England are expected to confirm later today that they will return to India following last week's terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

Kevin Pietersen's team flew back to England midway through the one-day series - with India leading 5-0 - but will fly to Abu Dhabi at the end of the week after reports confirmed the security situation in India was no different from earlier advice.

The ECB had already agreed a new tour schedule, with the Ahmedabad and Mumbai Tests set for Chennai and Mohali.

England will spend the weekend in Abu Dhabi before returning to the subcontinent on Monday

Meanwhile, more than 6,000 tickets were sold yesterday after Durham began a general sale for next summer's one-day international against Australia.

The overall number of seats sold for the match at the Riverside now tops 11,000 following initial uptake by members.

Durham, who put on extra staff and increased the capacity of their website to cope with the demand for tickets, have fewer than 4,000 left for next September's match.
